  • Azure VMware Solution AV36 Node Retirement on June 30, 2028
  • Microsoft announced retirement of the AV36 node type on June 30, 2028; current Reserved Instance terms remain unaffected.

  • Retirement: Entity Linking from Azure AI Language
  • Entity Linking will be retired; customers are advised to use Named Entity Recognition in Azure AI Language.

  • Retirement: The Linux Consumption hosting plan of Azure Functions will be retired on September 30, 2028. Migrate to Flex Consumption.
  • Azure Functions Linux Consumption hosting plan retires September 30, 2028; migration to Flex Consumption is recommended.

  • Retirement: Upgrade BlobFuse v1 to latest version of Blobfuse v2
  • BlobFuse v1 support will end; customers should move to BlobFuse v2 for future updates and improvements.

  • Retirement: Azure App Service on Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes
  • Azure App Service on Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes retires September 30, 2025; applications must migrate to other solutions.

  • Generally Available: Azure NetApp Files Flexible service level
  • Flexible service level lets users configure storage capacity and throughput independently for optimized costs and performance.

  • Retirement: The Insights blade in AKS is now called Monitor
  • The Insights blade in AKS has been renamed to Monitor with no functional changes to monitoring data or features.

  • Public Preview: Discover and assess PostgreSQL in Azure Migrate
  • Azure Migrate now supports discovery and assessment of PostgreSQL resources across VMware, Hyper‑V, physical servers, and other clouds.

  • Generally Available: Delete on-demand backup in Azure DB for MySQL – Flexible Server
  • Azure DB for MySQL – Flexible Server now allows deletion of on-demand backups created by users.

  • Retirement: Azure Disk Encryption
  • Azure Disk Encryption will retire September 15, 2028; migration to Encryption at Host or CVM OS disk encryption is advised.
